This notice explains how markforgecraft.life uses cookies and similar storage, how Google Maps fits in, and what happens when you accept or reject categories. MarkForge Craft LLP operates this site from Singapore. Wording and banner geometry differ from our partner studio sites by design.
Overview for Site B
MarkForge Craft uses a technical cookie banner at the bottom of every page — anvil surface, brass top light leak, slide-up customise sheet above the strip. Maps load by default until you reject embedded content.
Summary
We use essential storage so the site functions. Google Maps embeds load on every page by default and may set third-party cookies. Analytics cookies are not deployed. Your choices are stored about six months in cookie mfc_consent and localStorage consent_prefs_v1.
Essential
Essential storage includes your consent record so the banner does not reappear unnecessarily. This category is always on and cannot be disabled while using the preference system. No advertising cookies are set by us in this category.
Embedded content — Google Maps
Every content page includes a Google Maps iframe showing 12 Gopeng Street, Icon @ Tanjong Pagar, Singapore 078877. On this site, maps load by default when you first visit. The cookie strip discloses this plainly. Google may set cookies and process IP address, device data and approximate location. See Google's policies for detail. The printed address is always visible beside or below the map slot even when the iframe is withheld.
Reject all
If you choose "Reject all", embedded maps are withheld on the next page load. Each map slot becomes an edge-lit panel the same size as the iframe, showing the printed address and a short explanation. Essential storage still records your rejection so the banner stays dismissed across reloads and navigation.
Accept all
"Accept all" records consent for essential and embedded content, hides the banner, and keeps maps visible across reloads and navigation. Analytics remains off because we do not deploy analytics.
Customise
Open "Customise" to toggle Embedded content and Analytics independently. Analytics is off by default and unused. Save writes your exact choices to cookie and localStorage, hides the banner, and applies map behaviour immediately where possible.
Manage cookies
Use the "Manage cookies" link in the footer to reopen the panel with your saved state. Saving overwrites the prior choice immediately; map behaviour updates on the next page load at latest. Escape closes the panel and returns focus to the control that opened it.
Local storage keys
Besides the cookie, we mirror consent JSON to localStorage key consent_prefs_v1 for faster reads. Both stay in sync on every write from /js/main.js.
First visit behaviour
On first visit the banner appears while maps load. This is intentional Site B policy — disclosed here and in the strip. Non-essential categories beyond maps are not activated unless you enable analytics, which has no effect because no analytics runs.
Retention
Consent choices expire after about one hundred eighty days (Max-Age 15552000 seconds). After expiry the banner may return so you can refresh your choice. We never claim storage lasts forever.
Browser controls
You can delete cookies in browser settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent the consent record from persisting and may prevent Maps from loading even if you prefer embeds. Blocking third-party cookies specifically may break Google Maps while leaving essential consent intact.
Session vs persistent
Consent storage is persistent for six months. Closing the browser does not clear it unless you configure the browser to do so.
Do Not Track
We do not respond to DNT signals because we do not operate cross-site tracking analytics on this site.
Analytics
We do not use third-party analytics on this site. The analytics toggle exists for transparency and future-proofing only.
Embedded content elsewhere
No other third-party embeds load on this site — only Google Maps.
Testing your choice
After saving, reload and confirm maps or placeholders match your setting. Open Manage cookies to verify switches reflect stored JSON. No console errors should appear when clicking Accept, Reject, Customise or Save.
prefers-reduced-motion
Strip and panel animations respect reduced-motion preferences in CSS.
Changes
We may update this notice. Material changes appear here with a new date.
